What is the best method of preparing for the IIT-JEE? |
Although the syllabus for IIT-JEE and the school curriculum is very similar, there is a vast difference between the two in terms of the expectation of the students depth of understanding of concepts. Therefore it is advisable that students should put in extra preparation beyond what is expected from the board examinations of class XII.
One could ideally opt for a Classroom Coaching Programme if it is available in vicinity. This helps a student to understand concepts easily. It is advisable to join a coaching institute where personalised attention is given and supported by experienced faculty and good study material.
However, if one does not have access to a good classroom programme close to their homes, they can always opt for a correspondence course. Students should be careful in choosing the right institute who has vast experience and knowledge in this field and whose material has the richness of concepts coupled with incorporation of the latest trends in the IIT-JEE examinations.

What is the right time to start preparing for IIT-JEE? |
The best thing is to start as early as possible, right from the 9'th standard if possible. However, one must start just after clearing class X'th if not started earlier. In such a scenario the student gets adequate time of 2 years to prepare for the IIT-JEE. This ensure that his/her preparation for the IIT-JEE is complete before the pressure of Board examinations begins to tell.
